My Month Long Travels Part 4

This is the last of Xi'an, I promise, and will be mostly pictures. The next two days we pretty much looked at buildings around Xi'an in the city.
When we were on our way to see the rest of the city we came across this car that had writing on it and since I was with two Chinese friends they could understand what it said. They told me that the translation was something like, "Am I not so naughty?"

This is one of the two pagodas that we went to see that day, the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. A pagoda is a religious building for believers of Buddhism. It is used to house the remains of dead believers, kinda like tombstones are used to mark peoples graves in the West. When important Buddhist monks would pass on a pagoda would be used to house his cremated remains and would be a place where people could go to remember this monk. This one was the much older one of the two and was around during the Silk Road days. They did a lot of work on it fixing a huge crack down the middle. It started to snow while we were there giving it surreal feeling.

Just a picture of the street and a water fountain with the second pagoda behind it. Also a really cool dog statue thing.

This is the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the second of the two. We choose to climb this one, the taller of the two. The seven floors were fun.

This is the Bell Tower. When clocks were not the most common thing they would ring the bells in the Bell Tower in the morning to signal the day and they would bang the drum in the Drum Tower for the end of the day. The drum tower was just across the way but we did not enter it. We looked at it though.

The Bell!

This is a sign saying that people are working but I thought it looked interesting so took a picture.
Finally found a cinnamon roll in Starbuck in Xi'an, was supper exited, they needed more icing though.
